•  Structural change and money demand in Ukraine , co-authored with Georges de Menil and Igor Bolgarin.  Some of this was spun into chapter 2 of my book, The Ukrainian Economy since Independence.
•  Exchange Rate Regimes and Target Zones , co-authored with Alexander Petrik, presented at the WEA meetings in Seattle in 1997.  Most of this is in the appendix to chapter 4 of the book.
• Central Bank Independence, Economic Freedom and Inflation Rates.  Published in Economic Inquiry, January 2001.  Co-authored with William A. Luksetich.
• The demand for democide: an instrumental variables approach.  Presented at the Western Social Science Association meetings, April 2001.
• Transition in Ukraine -- the Role of IMF Support.  Also presented at the WSSA meetings.  This is an early version of the paper in the Journal of Ukrainian Studies.  The eventual paper looked nothing like this one.
