Bulletin Course Description:
Field based problem solving of local geological relationships in central Minnesota, as well as several extended field trips to geologically significant areas in the upper midwest. Prereq.: 220 or 205. 3 Cr. F.

Dr. Al Pekarek and Dr. Kate Pound take turns teaching EAS 307. Dr. Pound is teaching EAS 307 in Fall 2008, and Dr. Pekarek will teach EAS 307 in Fall 2009.

More Course Information:
EAS 307 focuses on developing geological field skills required of a practicing geoscientist. These include working with (describing, mapping, making appropriate measurements in, interpreting and reporting on sediments, as well as sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks. In this course we meet on Wednesday afternoons in order to both wrap up field work from the previous week, as well as to prepare for field work on Fridays (or longer field trips).

Instructor: Office hours will be posted outside her office (WSB-44) during the first week of the semester.
