2 March Trip to Nürnburg

This was a long, interesting and cold visit to the city of Nürnburg. The city is only about one hour by train, so we will likely make more trips to see all the sights we did not have time for on this visit.

Frauenkirche

Church of Our Lady. The figures above and below the clock give a 10 minute show a few times each day.

Shöner Brunnen

Shöner Brunnen, or Beautiful Fountain, is in the plaza where we watched the Frauenkirche clock. It has a small gold ring you spin for good luck.

The Moat

Kaiserburg, or the Empirial Castle, still has most of the surrounding walls. Much of this is surrounded by a large moat, which is more of a small park now.

Kaiserburg Museum

The museum has a lot of examples of weapons through the years. It hurt just looking at these.

Eric's New Suit

Those weapons make these suits look a little more appealing.

Sinwill Tower

This tower is the most prominent part of Kaiserburg. The well inside the building in front is well worth a visit.

There are a few steps required for the full view.

Sinwill Tower

There is a good view from the top.

This is the view from the tower, well worth the climb.

Those stairs again.

Subway Entrance

This historic looking place was in the middle of a walking area downtown.

This is the other side. That is an impressive subway entrance.

Bottle Man

Some sights are less historic than others.
