Solvent microextraction theory and applications

We are investigating simple drop-based microextraction techniques capable of performing trace analysis on environmental samples. Organic compounds (e.g. pollutants such as chloroform and benzene) are preconcentrated in the microdrop, which is then analyzed by gas chromatography - mass spectrometry or other techniques. Current and future research in this area includes mass transfer studies and analytical applications.
