Teachers will conduct their own inquiry investigation in the Human Performance Lab under the direction of Dr. David Bacharach. Teachers will also learn diet, exercise and anatomy content along with developing new activities to utilize the existing data collected and recorded on the databases.
We will also investigate how to challenge students to investigate the impact of life-style choices on their health.
Teachers will receive a $200 dollar stipend for attending the two-week institute. In addition, one graduate credit will be paid for by the grant for teachers who participate in the academic year follow-up sessions and utilize some of the Project I.D.E.A. investigations in their classrooms. Textbooks will also be provided.
Note: Teachers have the option of paying for 2 graduate credits for the summer
institute, if they choose.
