Kate is a geologist with research and teaching interests that center around provenance studies and tectonics, and incorporate structure, sedimentology, stratigraphy, and the use of petrography and geochemistry to decipher regional geologic histories in Archean to Pleistocene igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks. Kate has worked in New Zealand, Australia, Alaska, California, and Mexico, and is now working on Pleistocene glacial sediments and Proterozoic rocks in Minnesota. Kate is also involved in Science Education, and is particularly interested in Earth Science Education for Elementary-, Middle- and High-School pre- and in-service teachers.
