West of Belgrade, MT, on Van Dyke’s farm (ranch?) was an active Osprey nest in early April:
They were a pair, OK, but which is which? I think the female is on the red meat here:
Van Dyke is one lucky guy: The Osprey nest is in his pasture. The rear end of his land backs onto the Yellowstone River, where a Cottonwood grove supports an active heron rookery:
So on some days this is his view to the North:
Not too shoddy, eh?
