Birds –the only bright spot from November to April

 

Some tundra swans appeared for a while in the open water below the 10th-street dam

One day this trio were to be seen;

The bird on the far left was there to provide us a scale:  It’s a Canada goose.

Standing barefoot on ice is cold!

The local Cooper’s hawk came around in early winter, right in the front-yard aspen, but scorned to pose properly for me:

The suet feeder has been a big draw for Downy Woodpeckers

Pine Siskins replaced Goldfinches at the thistle feeder for the winter,

Chickadees visit the aspen every midmorning to hunt bugs,
