Artist'sStatement
I am investigating the
theme of "cultivated nature" in my work, combining new
media such as digitally-manipulated video together with traditional
media such as sculpture. I choose to work with areas that are
groomed by man in order to protect the existing natural environment
while providing recreational opportunities for visitors such as
the Appalachian Trail corridor and the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness
Area. I record digital video while on outdoors excursions and
later reprocess the footage on a Macintosh for use as projections
in sculptural installations.
