To upload information onto the university server:
• enter the same student web address info as above
• enter your userid (that part of e-mail address before @)
• enter your password for your own HuskyNet account
• leave directory blank

Please note that you will not be able to make a Web page on the Internet publicly unless you have a HuskyNet account. To get one, visit the HuskyNet Website. You must use a valid SCSU ID to activate your account. You will also need to select a password. You must use your new password to access your account so please do not forget it.

After clicking on the "Put File…" button, this new dialog box appears. Images should be put as "Raw Data".

HTML documents from SimpleText should be put as Text

Q: What's wrong with both of the above pictures?
A: The image should not be a pict file. The web supports jpeg and gif formats. Let the correct suffix correspond with the format. The text should be no more than eight characters without use of a spacebar. The file name should end with the suffix, ".html" if it was an html document from SimpleText.

To avoid broken or missing icons such as this,

when you upload to the web…
• keep all files in the same folder, your "public.html" folder. If you put a file into the wrong location, it won’t be found and you will get a broken icon.
• upload all files in the right Web-viewable format with the right suffix. Images and movies should be uploaded as "raw data", html documents should be uploaded as "text" under formats.
