Text: Calculus, Early Transcendentals, 6th ed, by James Stewart. We will cover most of Chapters 1-5, and some of the Appendices as the need arises.

Tests: There will be three tests: Friday September 25, Friday October 30, and Friday December 4. Each test will be 20 percent of your grade. No calculators on tests.

Homework and Quizzes: Homework will be assigned, but not collected. There will be quizzes on Tuesdays and Fridays that will be drawn from the homework. The lowest quiz grade will be dropped. Quizzes will count for 15 percent of your grade. No calculators on quizzes.

Final: The final will be cumulative, and will count for 25 percent of your grade. The final schedule is here ; the final for this class is Monday, Dec 14, at 10:15am. You are required to take the final; failure to take the final will result in an F for the class.

Etiquette: Among other things: don't be late, don't talk in class, don't do other work in class. I reserve the right to cut the grade of offenders by a third.
